using 3g mobile broadband on a ps3 without a 3g wireless router.. im using a three mobile huawei E169G 3g usb modem(dongle), im pretty sure this will work with all 3g and adsl modems(if your sick of having to change the ethernet cable back and over on the adsl modem)!! sorry about the bad quility, here are the instructions if you cant see them — Here I’m going to show you how to share your 3g internet connection with your ps3/xbox 360 without having to buy a 3g wireless Wire-less router …

PSN is Playstation Network and yes it is free, just hook up your PS3 to your internet connection and then go to the network icon on your XMB and then mke an account, you can then browse the internet on your PS3 like a PC or play your games online with other people or friends providing the game supports online functions, Glad to help
Listen man, i had the same problem but when i brought a new PC it worked, i would recommend that or formating your PC. Also use Windows XP because Vista is more complicated. Good Luck
i`m using it everythings fine exept when i play pes2010 online i cab barly finish a game keeps saying connection terminated !

the guy in the shop that i bought my laptop from said the i cant use my dongle for ps3 because it will be to slow is he right?
Keep trying! Once you get that download sorted its pretty much smooth sailing from then on, well til the next update anyway. I recomend downloading it at the dead of night when very few people in your area will be using there 3g, or dl’ing it on the pc stick it on a memery stick and use uab storage device to do update the ps3, somtime it comes with new games! put as for connecting to the network you have already done it !!
OK, i bought my Ethernet cable from argos for £5, well it was a crossover cable which is the same thing right? well i need help in doing this, i want my PS3 online but it always says a DNS failure or it has timed out. But when update 3.00 came out i tried to sign in and it let me to download the update and then as soon as it was updated it signed me out and the same as before. I need help, can some1 do a video using Windows XP please.

ya, but its a hell of a lot more complex. you could also do a wireless ad-hoc connection.
it seems there is a new update that changes it some how, but if you had it before im sure its still there, just search for it, try clickin the 2 little pc’s on the bottom left of your screen or system restore the computer back a few days and turn off windows automatic update until they fix the problem!
i did it, got it working the first time, but the next day it wouldnt work so i tried to do it again but there is no sharing tab in properties.??
any idea how to fix this?

I have a Huawei E160X dongle, which is on the Orange network @ speeds of around 3g+.
Regarding Nufcforever4s comment on Vista, here is the following missing info. follow the reply video from hodgi @ also in the properties, sharing tab, click on `settings`, I checked every box except `remote desktop & telnet server`.
so will it work for a game of halo 3 cause im missing out.
